Morawel
A character holiday cottage with the lawn running straight onto Poppit Sands — one of the great beaches of West Wales.
Two bedrooms, ten yards of lawn, then the sea
Morawel is a two-bedroom character holiday cottage at Poppit Sands, on the northern edge of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.
The first bedroom has a double bed with fitted wardrobes; the second has two single beds arranged as split bunks. The settee in the lounge also converts to a comfortable double bed — the cottage sleeps up to six.
The large lounge and kitchen area has a fitted kitchen with hob, oven, microwave, fridge and freezer, plus an HD Freesat TV and DVD player. There's a bathroom with w.c., shower cubicle and a washing machine/tumble dryer, and night storage heaters keep the cottage warm even in the coldest weather. There is room for one car beside the cottage, and pets are welcome.
Approached along a private track through the dunes, Morawel is one of only four holiday cottages right on the beach. The spot is ideal for young children — there is only ten yards of lawn between the cottage and the sand. Please note that linen and towels are not provided — bring your own.

Poppit Sands — the best beach in Wales
Poppit Sands is a vast golden beach on the west coast of Wales in Cardigan Bay, with large sand dunes at the mouth of the Teifi Estuary. Lifeguards patrol through July and August, and it's the start of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path — all 180 miles of it to Amroth.
At low tide the sand stretches for hundreds of yards, and the gentle slope makes it ideal for learning to surf or kiteboard, or simply playing in the waves safely(ish). There are rock pools along the western edge for the children.
The Poppit Sands café is about 400 yards from the cottage for light refreshments, and St Dogmaels village — with its shop, pubs and the famous Tuesday producers' market — is just over a mile away.
Find us through the dunes
Morawel is approached along a private track through the sand dunes, running parallel to the beach. From Cardigan, follow signs to St Dogmaels:
- From the traffic island where the A478 and A4971 meet, take the exit into Cardigan and drop down the hill.
- Just before the bridge over the river, turn left — the Eagle Inn is on the corner.
- Follow the road into St Dogmaels and up the high street. At the top it bends right — it's signed to Poppit.
- Follow the road out of St Dogmaels parallel with the River Teifi for about 2 miles. You're now in Poppit.
- Carry on past the car park on the left, then past the lifeboat station on the right.
- About 10 yards past the lifeboat station, go straight on where the road turns 90° left — you're on the un-made track. Follow it about 200 yards to Morawel. (Ignore the no-parking signs past this point — that's for everyone else!)

Cardigan town is 4 miles away with two supermarkets, a swimming pool, a small theatre and restaurants. There's a pub about half a mile from the cottage, and Cardigan Bay Holiday Park is around the corner.

Bwthyn gwyliau ar draeth Poppit
Mae'r bwthyn yn sefyll ym Mharc Cenedlaethol Sir Benfro, ar hyd llwybr preifat drwy'r twyni tywod sy'n rhedeg yn gyfochrog â'r traeth. Mae traeth tywod mawr anhygoel gydag achubwyr bywyd yn patrolio yn yr haf, pyllau creigiau ar gyfer y plant a llawer o le i ymarfer y cŵn neu hedfan barcutiaid.
Mae'r bwthyn yn cynnwys lolfa fawr gyda theledu Freesat, cegin wedi'i gosod gyda hob, ffwrn, micro-don, oergell a rhewgell, ystafell wely ddwbl, ail ystafell gyda dau wely sengl, a soffa sy'n troi'n wely dwbl. Mae lle i chwech o bobl. Croesewir anifeiliaid anwes.
Dim ond 10 llath o lawnt sydd rhwng y bwthyn a'r traeth — delfrydol ar gyfer plant ifanc.
