Local Beaches

While Poppit Sands is with doubt the best beach in the area, there are a number that are also well worth a visit.

Cwmtydu Beach

One of my favourite beaches in the area.  Accessed via a road that looks like its going nowhere. Small cove with café’s and fantastic scenery.  Used for smuggling in the past!

Aberporth Beach

Aberporth village boasts a small harbour and two beaches.  Its busy in the summer and has a great atmosphere.  Plenty of car parking spaces, café’s and shops. It’s a blue flag beach and dogs are welcome on one of the beaches

Llangrannog Beach

Lovely beach that has a pub and a couple of cafes to pass the time in.  Busy most of the year and good for beach activities.

Mwnt Beach

I ‘ve written about Mwnt in a separate post.  Great place for spotting dolphins and seals.  Sheltered beach , which unfortunately is down a very steep path from the car park.  So not great if you have a lot of equipment for your day on the beach.  Great place all the same.

New Quay Beach

Pretty harbour and extremely popular place in the summer.  Lots going on and plenty of places to eat and drink.  Nice blue flag beach.  B

Penbryn Beach

A mile long sandy beach. Owned by the National Trust.  Café and shop here but not too keen on dogs if I remember correctly.  Car park is a quick stroll from the beach thru a wooded area.

Tresaith Beach

Another lovely sandy beach north of cardigan. Plenty of shops and a pub and rock pools.  Popular in the summer.
